ISLAND UPS MARKETING TRIO
11/14/16

Island has promoted, from left, Natasha Mann, Olivia Nunn and Guillermo Ramos to director of marketing. Soon, they will no longer have to share a single desk.

A trio of marketing execs have been given promotions at Darcus BeeseIsland Records in the U.K., with Natasha Mann, Olivia Nunn and Guillermo Ramos all becoming Directors at the UMG imprint. Beese and label MD Jon Turner made the announcement.

“Natasha, Olivia and Guillermo are without question three of the most forward-thinking, engaged and innovative marketeers in the business,” Beese said. “It's always particularly gratifying to watch as great people rise through the ranks and go on to help shape the direction and destiny of this great label.”

The trio have been instrumental in the success of artists including Mumford & Sons, Hozier, Disclosure, Catfish & the Bottlemen, Drake, The Weeknd, PJ Harvey, Jessie Ware, Jack Garrattand Ben Howard. Island has enjoyed 19 weeks at #1 in the singles chart (largely thanks to Drake) this year and five weeks at the top of the albums chart across four different artists.

Mann joined Island as Junior Product Manager in 2009 from Toast Press. She was made Head of Marketing in 2014 alongside Nunn, who began her career at Island in 2006 in TV promotions before moving into marketing in 2009.

Ramos, meanwhile, joined Island in 2011 from Anorak London where he was a radio and TV plugger. He was named Senior Marketing Manager in 2013.

The promotions come soon after the elevation of Island’s General Manager, David Hawkes, to MD, Commercial Division of Universal Music U.K.

Mann, Nunn and Ramos will continue to report to Turner.

“After an outstanding year where we have seen Island’s interests broaden musically, culturally and creatively, it’s more important than ever to have the best people in key roles that will help us shape and define the future for Island Records,” Turner said. “Natasha, Olivia and Guillermo have all played a major part in the label’s continued success over the last six years, and I am excited to see what they will all achieve in their new roles.”
