R.E.M. RAIDS BBC VAULTS

R.E.M. spent a fair amount of time performing for the BBC as a new eight CD/one DVD R.E.M. at the BBC set attests. Rare and unreleased live and studio recordings culled from the BBC and band archives, the 10/19 release includes a John Peel Session from 1998, a 1984 show at Nottingham's Rock City and their headlining Glastonbury set from 1999.

The DVD begins with an hourlong retrospective of the band's performances at the BBC and includes a 1998 Later....With Jools Holland episode and the band’s appearances on Top of the Pops.

In addition to the box set, The Best of R.E.M. at the BBC will also available as two-CD and two-LP sets.

The shows included in the set are Into The Night, BBC Radio 1, 3/13/91; John Peel Studio Session, 10/25/98; Mark and Lard, BBC Radio 1 and Drivetime, BBC Radio 2, 10/15/03; Radio 1 Live Lounge, 3/26/08;  BBC Radio 1 Session, 10/25/98; Rock City, Nottingham, 11/21/84; Milton Keynes, 7/30/95; Glastonbury Festival, 6/25/99; and St. James' Church, London Radio 2, 9/15/04.
