CROSSOVER
THE BALLSTREET JOURNAL

Republic’s Gary Spangler, Davey Dee and Stef Cole reclaim the top spot this week with Belly f/The Weeknd’s “Might Not” (CP/Roc Nation), up 160 spins and with solid momentum. Plus, they have two other tracks in the Top 10, as Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” (Island) gains 170 spins to land at #6 and Drake f/Wizkid & Kyla’s “One Dance” (YMCMB) sits right behind at #7, adding 970 spins to lock in being the week’s Greatest Gainer. The first-week sales numbers on Drizzy’s album are just insane. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” leaps into the Top 15, gaining 150 spins. Nick Jonas f/Tove Lo’s “Close” (Safehouse/Island) climbs to #32, and the label is gearing up to impact a new on from Post Malone, called “Go Flex,” in the next few weeks.

It’s an exciting time for Ayelet Schiffman and James White at Columbia. Beyoncé dropped her Lemonade and the sales were through the roof. Bey’s first official single at Rhythm radio will be “Sorry,” and already, it’s up 390 spins to debut on the Building Chart at #38. Radio is also toying with other tracks from the record, as “Hold Up” garnered 210 new spins, “6 Inch” saw 120 spins and “Freedom” claimed 85 spins.  Not to mention “Formation” still has over 600 spins at the format—everyone has a different favorite.  In fact, there were over 1,500 total spins from tracks on Lemonade this week. Columbia also dropped Calvin Harris f/Rihanna’s new song, “This Is What You Came For.” That one grabbed 120 spins over the weekend and is being very well received; Top 40 is having a strong initial week as well. The Chainsmokers f/Daya’s “Don’t Let Me Down” (Disruptor) rockets #24-17 this week, thanks to a 535+-spin jolt. This song is just hitting its stride and should be in the Top 10 in a few short weeks. The Empire Cast f/Serayah’s “Look But Don’t Touch” is just getting started, and sees an increase of 95 spins.

Epic’s Sujit Kundu has put his plan in place to make Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home” (SYCO) next week’s #1 record. It was up 650 spins, and moves to #4. On the building chart, as we speak, it sits at #2, however. Future f/The Weeknd’s “Low Life” (A1/Freebandz) is at #16, while Meghan Trainor’s “No” climbs to #19, up 85 spins. Zara Larsson & MNEK’s “Never Forget You” moves up four spots to #28 and Yo Gotti f/E-40’s “Law” (CMG) comes in at #31. They’re impacting Kent Jones’ “Don’t Mind” (We The Best Music) this week. It debuts at #37 and gaining 210 spins; easily one of the bigger buzz records out there.

Def Jam’s Rick Sackheim, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness have Desiigner’s “Panda” (G.O.O.D.) inside the Top 10 after just six short weeks. It was up 760 spins and continues to be one of the biggest buzz records. Rihanna’s “Needed Me” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation) climbs inside the Top 25, posting a 290-spin increase. Kanye West’s “Famous” (G.O.O.D.) moves to #30, gaining 80 spins. Iggy Azalea’s “Team” continues to develop and moves to #35, while Rihanna’s other ANTI track, “Kiss It Better,” debuts on the chart this week at #39 and +110 spins.

RCA’s Inca and Lori G. have Bryson Tiller’s “Exchange” moving #16-12, with an increase of 185 spins. And after just one week, G-Eazy f/Chris Brown’s “Drifting” ignites with a 430+-spin gain to debut at #38. Pitbull’s “Messin’ Around” (Mr. 305) is still developing and lands at #49, up 60 spins.

Capitol’s Dixie Tipton continues to build Young Greatness’ “Moolah” (QC/Motown) as it glides up to #21, gaining 160 spins. She is impacting Niykee Heaton’s “Bad Intentions” next week.

Lee L’Heureux has Jason Derulo’s “If It Ain’t Love” (Beluga Heights/Warner Bros.) vaulting #30-23, thanks in part to a healthy 290+-spin increase.
