Guggenheim out of running for Hulu

NO GO FOR HULU: Guggenheim Partners has the inside track to buy Sony and UMG’s stakes in VEVO, according to our own I.B. Bad, but the Todd Boehly-led company won’t be adding Hulu to its collection. In an item even shorter than this one, the New York Post’s Claire Atkinson writes that Guggenheim Digital Media and private-equity partner KKR (remember them?) were eliminated from the bidding war for the online video hub after they submitted the lowest bid in the field of suitors. Chernin Entertainment, AT&T, DirecTV and Time Warner Cable are still in the hunt. (7/10a)
