Fleetwood Mac to tour

A WOMAN’S PREROGATIVE: Fleetwood Mac will reunite for a world tour in 2013, Stevie Nicks said Wednesday on CBS This Morning. Four fifths of the classic Rumours lineup will be involved, with Christine McVie no longer participating. Nicks, 64, said that the tour would start "next year, so far. It's the plan. Because that's what we do. I do my thing. And Lindsey is out doing his thing right now." Thanks to the L.A. Times’ Randall Roberts for transcribing Stevie’s interview. As Roberts points out in his story, the reunion announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, considering what Mick Fleetwood said in an April 2012 interview in Playboy. “I don’t believe Fleetwood Mac will ever tour again," he said. "But I really hope we do. We have rehearsed and prepared for it since 2010. We were supposed to tour in 2011, but we delayed it for a year to allow Stevie Nicks to support her solo record and for Lindsey Buckingham to do the same with his. It comes down to her, and for the first time, I think, even Lindsey has lost his patience. All of this uncertainty is a tremendous change for me… In the past I’d not have taken no for an answer. I’d have persuaded Stevie or whoever needed persuading at the time to do the tour. But I’m not doing that this time or ever again, and there is nothing else to say about it.” (7/13a)
