WALKING THE DOG TO MARKET

John Fleckenstein has been named RCA Records EVP, moving over from the post of EVP International Marketing for Sony Music. The new gig gives Fleckenstein giving him oversight of the label’s marketing, digital marketing and video production departments. He’ll also be the senior executive responsible for partnering with the centralized functions of creative, sales and international staff assigned to RCA projects. “John has done an amazing job leading Sony Music’s international efforts, and we couldn’t be more delighted to have him join our stellar team of executives,” said John’s once and future boss, President/COO Tom Corson. “John brings a global expertise that truly reflects the needs of our artists in this day and age and ensures we remain at the forefront of our industry.” Fleckenstein is “honored” to be back at RCA, where he headed international before moving to the Mothership. “Peter [Edge] and Tom have not only cultivated an incredible artist roster at RCA but have also built a world-class company to deliver this talent,” he noted, just before Corson resumed trying to show the new guy how to tie a Windsor knot.
