APPLE ACQUIRES CLIVE DOCUMENTARY

Apple Music will exclusively release the Clive Davis documentary Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives from IM Global and Scott Free Productions. The documentary premiered Wednesday at the Tribeca Film Festival.

“Apple is a global innovator that has revolutionized the distribution of music,” Clive said. “It is a touching honor to share the music and unique stories that have shaped my career with millions of Apple Music subscribers around the world.”

Directed by Chris Perkel and produced by Michael Bernstein of Scott Free Productions, the film opened the Tribeca Film Festival at Radio City Music Hall.

A concert featuring acts Davis had signed to various labels performed. Jennifer Hudson performed a medley of Whitney Houston hits and Barry Manilow, Earth, Wind & Fire, Dionne Warwick, Carly Simon and Aretha Franklin did short sets.

The Apple deal was negotiated by WME Global with assistance from attorney Craig Emmanuel of Loeb & Loeb on behalf of the filmmakers and General Counsel Deborah Zipser on behalf of IM Global.
