U.K. CHARTS: HARRY STYLES HITS #1

Columbia’s Harry Styles has hit #1 in the U.K. with his debut album on 57k combined sales. For anyone who’s counting, that’s more than double the amount former bandmate ZAYN did with Mind of Mine (RCA) in March 2016.

Styles’ sales include 3k on vinyl, meaning he’s #1 on Official Vinyl Albums Chart, too, ahead of Paul Weller’s A Kind of Revolution (Parlophone). At singles, Styles' "Sign of the Times" rebounds to #6.

On the combined albums tally, Paramore are the second highest new entry with After Laughter (Atlantic) at #4, while Weller’s A Kind of Revolution is #5 in its first week. Ed Sheeran stays at #2 with ÷ (Atlantic), followed by Rag’n’Bone Man at #3 with Human (Columbia).

Up and coming rapper J Hus has hit #6 with his debut album Common Sense (Black Butter). Counting Kasabian’s former #1 For Crying Out Loud (Columbia), which is #7 this week, Jason Iley’s Sony has four albums and four singles in the Top 10.

Three of those singles are on Black Butter: DJ Khaled is #2 with “I’m the One” (Black Butter/Def Jam), French Montana is at #8 with “Unforgettable” f/Swae Lee and J Hus reaches a new peak of #9 with “Did You See."

This week’s Official Singles #1 is still “Despacito” (Polydor) by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber. The track notches up an impressive 42k downloads and 7.9m streams to hold on to the top spot for a second week.

Completing the Top 5 are Clean Bandit’s “Symphony” (Atlantic) at #3, “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” (Virgin EMI) by Shawn Mendes, which hits a new peak at #4, and Sheeran’s “Shape of You” (Atlantic) at #5. Further down, Miley Cyrus enters at #11 with “Malibu” (RCA), followed by Charlie Puth with “Attention” (Atlantic) at #12.
