Labor Day partyers looking for new music are turning to Columbia Records’ LCD Soundsystem and The Script on this final flipover Friday of the summer. Daft Punk will not be the only thing playing at their house this weekend.
LCD Soundystem’s American Dream (Columbia) is #1 at iTunes this morning, leading the charge of just four new titles among the Top 10 albums. One new release from the past week is in the Top 10 on the songs side.
The Script’s Freedom Child (Columbia), the fifth album from the Irish rockers, nabs the #2 berth. Mercury & Lightning (Lionhawk) from John Mark McMillan strikes #4 and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark—we haven’t heard from them in four years—are #10 with The Punishment of Luxury (White Noise).
Among the songs, Maroon 5 f/SZA’s Wednesday release “What Lovers Do” (222/Interscope) is #3.
