FONSI BLAZES AT THE HISPANIC HERITAGE AWARDS

Cross-over megastar Luis Fonsi will be awarded the Trailblazer Award at the Hispanic Heritage Foundation's 30th annual award ceremony. In addition to receiving the honor Fonsi will be performing at the ceremony on 9/14 at Washington D.C.'s Warner Theater.

Fonsi's "Despacito" wih Daddy Yankee and featuring Justin Bieber (UMLE/RBMG/Def Jam/Republic) was certified Diamante by the RIAA and held the #1 spot at Top 40 radio for six consecutive weeks. The track set new precedents for Latin music crossover.

The ceremony will feature other Latino performers and personalities paying tribute to honorees and will be broadcast nationally 10/6 10pm ET on PBS. The full lineup of presenters and performers is due to be announced prior to the ceremony.

In other news, "Despacito" continued to produce beautiful, gigantic piles of money this week.
