APPLE'S GOT LISTS; WE'RE CHECKIN' THEM TWICE

Apple has done the math, combining Apple Music streams and iTunes downloads to determine the Top 20 most-listened-to albums and singles of 2017. Drake's More Life (YMCMB/Republic) and Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" (Atlantic) top the respective charts.

Look below to see both lists in full.

"2017 was an incredible year for music," shared Beats 1 Creative Director and Host Zane Lowe. "We’re seeing new talent find audiences faster while some of the biggest artists in the world delivered career highlights. Kendrick Lamar released many people's album of the year, Ed Sheeran’s Divide dominated the charts, and Atlanta continued to grow as Future and Migos set new standards and new stars like 21 Savage arrived.

Taylor Swift’s album reputation has already shot up to #3 on the 2017 U.S. top album charts, having only been available for a short period of time, and our Apple Music Up Next 2017 artists Khalid, Daniel Caesar and 6LACK all earned Grammy nominations. Looking forward, SZA was one of this year's breakout stars and Camila Cabello ends 2017 with a global smash hit and an album on the way. Hip-hop has moved around the world this year… Grime continued to dominate in the U.K. and domestic hip-hop scenes took off across Europe.
The K-Pop and Latin Trap scenes also caught hold in Apple Music, and we’re seeing more than ever how streaming is putting great music on the world's stage.”
