U.K. CHARTS: NEWCOMERS SCALE TOP 10

Ed Sheeran has the first #1s on the U.K.’s Official Singles and Albums Chart, while a number of new tracks scale the Top 10, including music from Big Shaq (Island), MK (Columbia) and Ramz (Polydor).

Sheeran’s “Perfect” (Atlantic) has now been at the top for five consecutive weeks, while album ÷, which ended 2017 as the biggest seller on all formats with combined sales of 2.7m, is now on its 19th week at #1.

Elsewhere on this week’s Official Singles Chart, Eminem is #2 with “River” f/Sheeran (Interscope) and UMG priority act Big Shaq rises three places to #3 with viral hit “Man’s Not Hot.” “Anywhere” (Atlantic) by Rita Ora is #4 and “Havana” by Camila Cabello f/Young Thug (Epic/Syco) is #5. Clean Bandit and Julia Michael’s “I Miss You” (Atlantic) is up to #6 from #18, “17” by MK moves to #7 from #23 and young British rapper Ramz reaches a new peak of #8 with debut single “Barking.”

Further down, there are new Top 20 peaks for Craig David & Bastille’s “I Know You” (Insanity) at #15, Dave f/MoStack’s self-released “No Words” at #17 and Jason Derulo f/French Montana’s “Tip Toe” (Warner Bros.) is at #19.

On the Official Albums Chart, the highest riser is The Greatest Showman OST collection (Atlantic), which leaps 35 places to #4. Sam Smith is #2 with The Thrill of it All (Capitol), Rag’n’Bone Man is #3 with Human (Columbia) and Eminem’s Revival (Interscope) is down to #5.

Taylor Swift’s Reputation (Virgin EMI) returns to the Top 10 at #8 and Pete Tong, Jules Buckley and the Heritage Orchestra’s Ibiza Classics (UMC) secures a new chart best at #15.
