FLECKENSTEIN & RICCITELLI JOINED AT THE HIP

RCA has wasted no time confirming Friday morning’s lead post on the site, announcing the anointment of John Fleckenstein and Joe Riccitelli as Nipper’s co-Presidents. According to the release, the dynamic duo will oversee the day-to-day operations of the label, excluding A&R.

Fleckenstein previously held the role of EVP, while Riccitelli was GM/EVP Promotion. Both will remain in the company’s New York headquarters and report to Chairman/CEO Peter Edge.

The promotions occasioned a three-way love fest. “I am excited for this next chapter in RCA’s history, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to elevate John and Joe into these enhanced roles,” Edge stated. “Their knowledge in their respective areas and relationships with the artists themselves have helped turn RCA into the thriving community it has become over the last couple of years. We’re so fortunate to have an incredibly experienced, strong senior management team driving the company toward further success.”

“I’m endlessly impressed by the talent of our RCA team and come to work each day energized by the creative collective being built around our unique and visionary artists,” Fleckenstein enthuses. “I’m very grateful to Peter and Rob Stringer for their belief and humbled by the opportunity to help lead RCA’s next chapter together with Joe.”

Said Riccitelli, "Thanks to both Peter and Rob for the opportunity to be a leader of the most legendary and prestigious record company in the business. Our roster speaks for itself, and our ability to break new artists is unmatched. I’m really looking forward to working even closer with John and the rest of the leadership team. They’re incredibly talented and passionate in their fields of expertise."

Since Fleckenstein joined RCA in 2014 as EVP, he has orchestrated breakthrough marketing campaigns with new signings including Khalid, SZA and Bryson Tiller, while also working with Foo Fighters, P!nk, Pentatonix, Justin Timberlake and Walk the Moon, among other established acts. He was previously Sony Music’s EVP of International. Fleckenstein’s career path has landed him at Arista, Jive and Sydney, Australia, where he oversaw marketing and promotion for the Asian-Pacific Region. He began his career as an intern at Columbia.

Since being promoted to GM / EVP Promotion in 2013, Riccitelli has led his team to lighting up the scoreboard with hits from all of the above, as well as G-Eazy, Cage the Elephant, Bleachers and more. From 1999 to 2013, he was EVP Promotion at Jive. Before that, he worked at Island and PolyGram, where he entered the biz in 1985 as an advertising clerk.
