PANDORA UPGRADES WEB OFFERINGS

Pandora has unlocked Pandora Premium on the Internet to provide listeners with the on-demand features found on the mobile app. Business-wise, it’s a step toward Pandora delivering on its strategy to more deeply engage listeners by bringing its Premium tier to more platforms.

Functions added to the web edition are: Search & Play; My Music, which displays personal collections of artists, music and playlists; and easy-to-operate playlist creation.

In a blog post, Pandora touted it thusly: “We combine the Pandora radio you already love with the ability to search and play any track or album, and then share your new playlists with your friends. Waiting for everyone who upgrades is your ‘My Thumbs Up’ playlist, a collection of every song you’ve ever thumbed up across all your stations—a timeline of your greatest hits on Pandora.

“This is just the beginning. More new features will be coming soon to Pandora Premium and we can’t wait to bring them to you.”
