CHART STORY: JACK REACHES THE TOP

With a first-week total north of 126k, Jack White’s third solo studio album (and first in four years), Boarding House Reach (Third Man/Columbia), has hit #1 on the HITS Top 50 Chart. It's worth noting that the number is mostly comprised of a ticket bundle and D2C sales. Boarding House Reach follows 2014's Lazaretto, which scored a #1 bow with 129k.

The second-biggest debut belongs to Def Jam’s Toni Braxton, who enters at #21 with 16k for Sex & Cigarettes.

And following the release of the DVD, Atlantic’s Greatest Showman soundtrack jumps back into the Top 5, moving #7-4. Meanwhile, Republic star Post Malone sees his 2016 breakout set, Stoney, rise #10-7, powered by heavy streaming.

When it comes to marketshare, UMG is #1 with 48%, SME follows with 31% and WMG is #3 with 19%, while the indies claim 1%.

Streeting this week is XO/Republic’s The Weeknd’s new six-song project—titled My Dear Melancholy,—as well as albums from MCA Nashville’s Kacey Musgraves and Interscope’s Rich the Kid.

In honor of Passover, we saved a place in this story for Elijah, but even he doesn’t want to be seen with us.
