FLEETWOOD MAC TOUR DIALS UP SIRIUS/XM

The latest edition of Fleetwood Mac, with Mike Campbell and Neil Finn replacing Lindsey Buckingham, will head out on 52-date tour that starts 10/3 in Tulsa, take a break in December and January, and finish with a run through the South and East Coast in February and March.

The Mac wraps the first leg with two shows at The Forum in mid-December; New York (3/11 at The Garden) and Nashville (2/27) are on the back end of the tour.

Tickets go on sale 5/4.

To coincide with the tour announcement, SiriusXM will launch a Fleetwood Mac channel on 5/1.

The channel will showcase music from Mac music, solo material, live songs, demo tracks and musical influences. Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie and Stevie Nicks will be hosts of shows.

Members of the band spoke with Rolling Stone about the tour and the process of replacing Buckingham. Fleetwood said he is not fond of the word “fired.” “Not to hedge around, but we arrived at the impasse of hitting a brick wall. This was not a happy situation for us in terms of the logistics of a functioning band. To that purpose, we made a decision that we could not go on with him. Majority rules in term of what we need to do as a band and go forward.”

Nicks spoke a bit about he repertoire, noting that “Oh Well” from 1970 will be in the set as well other classics that predated her arrival in the band in 1975.

“We were never able to do that since 1975 because certain people in the band weren’t interested in doing that,” Nicks says. “Now we’re able to open the set with a lot; a raucous version of [1969’s] ‘Rattlesnake Shake’ or something. I’d also like to do [1970’s] ‘Station Man,’ which has always been one of may favorites."

The band also spoke with CBS This Morning.
