A PROPER
ROYAL AFFAIR

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you'll know the Brits are currently getting into a tizzy about the upcoming Royal Wedding Ceremony between Prince Harry and she of U.S. soil, Meghan Markle, on 5/19. For those whose invites got lost in the post, UMG UK label Decca Records will be recording and releasing the ceremony and making it available to stream worldwide hours after the main event.

The ceremony takes place at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. A physical version will be released to all retail stores on 5/25. Musicians confirmed to perform include British cellist Sheku Kanneh Mason, Welsh soprano Elin Manahan Thomas, The Choir of St George’s Chapel and Christian gospel group The Kingdom Choir. The orchestra, conducted by Christopher Warren-Green, will be made up of musicians from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonia. Anna Barry will produced the album.

“Decca is hugely proud of its historical connections to The Royal Family and is very much looking forward to recording, and making available within hours, this truly special event,” said Decca Records President Rebecca Allen. “This unique and prestigious occasion will be available to stream across all music platforms globally—a first for a Royal Wedding.”

Decca will make a donation per album sold to support the charitable work of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
