THOMPSON CROSSES OVER TO EPIC

Rick Sackheim has brought former eOne promo exec Dontay Thompson into the Epic fold, putting him in charge of all promotional campaigns at Rhythm/Crossover.

As Epic’s Senior Vice President, Rhythm/Crossover Promotion, Thompson will report to Sackheim and work closely with his promotion counterparts in release strategy and artist development initiatives.

Epic EVP Sackheim said, “His wealth of experience and team building skills enable him to thread the big picture with a hands-on promotional rapport that will translate into long term success stories for our artists.”

An Angeleno who has been schlepping on New York City’s subways for the last 15 years, Thompson was most recently, SVP of Promotion at Entertainment One. He spent 2008 and 2009 as VP of Promotion at Bad Boy Entertainment and got his start in promotions at J Records after escaping the world of trade journalism as Rhythmic Editor at Radio & Records.

He’ll be moving back to L.A. where he says, “I look forward to further solidifying this great promotion staff and return to Los Angeles ready to help take Epic to even greater heights.”
