Island's Eric Wong played an important role as EVP/GM under former topper David Massey, earning a rep as one of the top operations and marketing execs in the biz. The artist-friendly Wong was thought by many to be the glue at the company, and Massey gave him significant credit for helping to engineer its successes. New Island boss Darcus Beese has recognized this and word has it that Wong is not only staying but is due for a bump.
