The first original Prince video released posthumously is for his recording of the 19th century spiritual "Mary Don't You Weep," which appears on Piano & A Microphone 1983. The album comes out Friday via Warner Bros. Records.
Directed by Salomon Ligthelm through Stink Films, the video focuses on gun violence and its continuing impact on youth in America, an issue that Prince addressed with his protest song “Baltimore” in 2015. Prince was also the host of a special tribute concert that year in Baltimore on Mother's Day, titled Rally 4 Peace.
Besides Piano & A Microphone 1983, a symphony is taking his music to concert halls in the U.S. and Europe.
