AMAZON ADDS MUSIC SOUTH OF THE BORDER

Amazon Music began streaming in Mexico today offering locally curated playlists and stations in addition to the usual potpourri of music.

“Soon millions of songs will be paired with a brand-new way of listening to music through voice on Alexa, delivering a host of brand-new ways to ask for music,” said Federico Pedersen, Head of Music for Mexico.

Listeners can subscribe to the premium tier, Amazon Music Unlimited, and have access to more than 50m songs and thousands of playlists and stations at a variety of subscription tiers.

With Prime Music, every new and existing Amazon Prime member will automatically be able to listen to more than 2m songs and hundreds of playlists and stations for up to 40 hours of monthly playback.

Alexa will soon be available in the Amazon Music app in iOS and Android, making it easy for customers to just ask for music in a variety of ways on the go.
