NIPSEY HUSSLE'S CELEBRATION OF LIFE

With a city and the larger hip hop community still in deep mourning, a public memorial service for slain rapper Nipsey Hussle, (aka: Ermias Asghedom) billed as Nipsey Hussle’s Celebration of Life, has been set for 10 a.m. Thursday (4/11) at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

The event sold out in less than an hour.

Free tickets were made available Tuesday morning at 10am (4/9) to California residents only and a four-ticket limit per household, with residents entering their zip codes to confirm local status.

Following the memorial service, Nipsey’s procession will be final victory lap through the streets LA, taking him 25 miles through the South L.A. neighborhoods he was dedicated to. This incredible gesture by the family, also gives thousands of other people who didn’t get tickets a chance to say goodbye.

A celebrated rapper and activist, Hussle was gunned down outside his clothing store on Slauson Avenue on 3/31. The 33-year-old Grammy-nominated artist was known for never leaving his South L.A. neighborhood, instead choosing to invest back into his community and lead through example.

Nipsey will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
