BBC Radio 1 has added an extra dance-themed night to its annual Big Weekend extravaganza, with Mark Ronson, MK, Purple Disco Machine and a team of Wilkinson, Sub Focus and Dimension set to perform.
In addition,Twenty One Pilots, Dave and Foals have been added to the weekend line-up.
Taking place in the British town of Middlesbrough at the end of May, the Friday night event on 5/24 will welcome 6k fans. Tickets will be available on 4/26 and BBC Radio 1 will be broadcasting on the night from 7pm until 1am.
Now in its 16th year, Radio 1’s Big Weekend takes artists to cities that may not otherwise host a large scale event. This year, the BBC is working closely with Middlesbrough Council and Tees Valley Combined Authority to put on the event, which is estimated to generate £3.5m for the local area.
Across Saturday and Sunday, the audience will tip 64k. Twenty One Pilots, Dave and Foals join a line-up that includes Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Stormzy, The 1975 and Little Mix.
