UMG REVIVES DECCA BROADWAY

Rebecca Naomi Jones and Damon Daunno star in Oklahoma!

Universal Music Group is reviving Decca Broadway with the release of two cast albums from the current season, Oklahoma! and Tootsie.

Decca Broadway, which released the first ever cast album 76 years ago, will reside in the Verve Label Group. Release dates for the albums are not yet set.

Dean Sharenow and David Yazbek produced the Tootsie album; Dean Sharenow and Daniel Kluger produced the Oklahoma! revival album. For the new version of Oklahoma!, the Rodgers and Hammerstein estate has allowed new arrangements of the original score for the first time. Tootsie officially opens at the Marquis Theatre on 4/23.

In previous incarnations, Decca Broadway released The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Mamma Mia!, Rent and others.
