HOTTER THAN HOT: LIL NAS X FENDS OFF THE STARS

So far, Lil Nas X’s monstrous breakout record, “Old Town Road” (Columbia), has kept six superstar tracks from hitting #1 on the Bible's Hot 100 Chart. Those are Post Malone’s “Sunflower” and “Wow.” (Republic), Taylor Swift f/Brendon Urie’s “ME!” (Republic), Shawn Mendes’ “If I Can’t Have You” (Island), Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” (Def Jam/Atlantic) and Billie Eilish’s “bad guy” (Darkroom/Interscope). And early indicators suggest he’ll be able to keep out Swift’s new one, “You Need to Calm Down,” as well as Drake’s two NBA championship releases.

How much bigger could this thing get? The newcomer seems unstoppable, but the week’s not over yet so stay tuned. It’ll be particularly interesting to see what happens after the arrival of his seven-song EP, which is scheduled to drop Friday.
