SONG REVENUE CHART:
NOT SO FAST

Predictions of the imminent end of Lil Nas X’s reign with “Old Town Road” were premature, it turns out.* No doubt buoyed by the release of Nas’ 7 EP (Columbia), “Road” has generated $284k to yet again top our Song Revenue Chart, while its primary challenger a week earlier, Drake’s “Money in the Grave” f/Rick Ross (OVO/Republic) drops 17% in its second week, earning $196 and slipping to #3.

But now, the Song of the Spring has a new challenger for Song of the Summer: Señorita” from the potent tag team of Shawn Mendes & Camilla Cabelo, on Island, which enters the chart at #2 with $219k. The other new challenger is Nas’ own “Panini,” which bows at #4 with $176k.

*In honor of the Fourth of July holiday, the Quote of the Week comes from great American Mark Twain,
who famously wrote in 1897: “The report of my death was an exaggeration.”
