UMPG HAS THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM

It's contest time! In honor of the news that Jody Gerson and Team UMPG have inked a global admin deal with the redoubtable artist/songwriter Alicia Keys, we present this photo of said team against a blank background and invite you to photoshop them into an intriguing locale of your own imagining. Are they standing by the Louvre? On the banks of the Arno? Before a venerable financial institution housing their megabucks in royalties? You decide.

Seen hoping we don't actually publish any of the entries in this contest are (l-r) UMPG's Joy Murphy, Jamie Diamond, Walter Jones and Taylor Testa, Keys, Gerson and the pubco's Sterling Simms, Marni Condro, Lillia Parsa and James Supreme.

Alicia Keys, you'll be interested to know, has sold 30m albums worldwide, penned smashes like "Fallin," "My Boo," "Empire State of Mind" and "No One," and scored four #1 chart debuts. Anyhoo, this auspicious occasion demands some quotes.

"At the beginning of her career, I was fortunate to have signed Alicia to her first music publishing deal at age 14," notes Gerson. "We shared tremendous success together over time and our relationship grew from a professional, publisher-songwriter relationship into a deep, personal friendship. Now, it is an honor to bring Alicia into my UMPG family.”

She adds: “In the many years I’ve known Alicia, she has risen to become of the biggest names in music and an icon in art and culture whose songs are celebrated by fans around the world. I respect her tremendously as a songwriter, producer, performer, artist, mother, businesswoman, and as a person who is in control and standing in her power. Our UMPG global team looks forward to delivering outstanding creative opportunities in support of her timeless music."
