THE DEATH OF PRINT JOURNALISM: WHAT YOU GET EDITION

What You See Is What You Get is the title of River House/Columbia Nashville star Luke Combs’ hotly anticipated new album, and the perfect distillation of his everyman image and straight-ahead country smash hits. But when what you “get” is being stuck on the cover of our misbegotten mag, second thoughts are understandable.

Sony Music’s strongest-ever Q2 result has chief Rob Stringer beaming, with recorded-music hitting the $1 billion mark for the second straight quarter and gains across the board—causing the company to up its forecast for the full fiscal year. Now he's looking at a big #1 bow by the aforementioned Luke Combs. Given how flush he’s feeling, Stringer would probably pay to get out of this HITS Contents shout-out.
