XXL has unveiled their annual Freshman Class, honoring the hottest rising hip-hop stars. Previous stars to hold the honor include Future (2012), Travis Scott (2013), Lil Uzi Vert (2016), and Playboi Carti (2017), among many others.
2020's class includes: Columbia's 24kGoldn, Polo G, Fivio Foreign and Lil Tjay; Alamo/Geffen/Interscope's Rod Wave; RCA's Calboy and Mulatto; and Warner's NLE Choppa and Chika.
XXL noted in their reveal that the late Pop Smoke (Victor Victor/Republic) was the first star chosen in this year's class.
