DETROIT ALT-ROCK CITY

Entercom has officially launched Detroit’s new Alternative station, ALT 98.7 (WDZH-FM).

Previously known as 98.7 The Breeze, the new station will see of-the-moment acts like 24kGoldn, All Time Low, Juice WRLD, Machine Gun Kelly, Absofacto, AJR and Cannons rubbing shoulders with format stalwarts blink-182, Cage the Elephant, The Lumineers and twenty one pilots, among many others.

“This is a huge opportunity to add Alternative to our portfolio, and we’re thrilled to further expand our content offering for Detroiters,” said Debbie Kenyon, SVP and Market Manager, Entercom Detroit. “ALT 98.7 will serve as a home for some of today’s top hits from premier artists while capturing the distinctive style and flair of the Motor City.”

Entercom Alt god Mike Kaplan, who's overseeing programming, added, "Kick out the jams, motherfuckers! Also, I'll see you on the weekly Zoom call."

The station will launch commercial-free with 10k songs. On-air programming details will be announced in coming weeks—but wouldn’t it be awesome if Detroit native Lazlo was part of ALT 98.7's Detroit talent roster?
