AMAs TACKLED FOR LOSS BY SNF

Sunday night’s American Music Awards, on ABC, had plenty of star power, but so, too, did NBC’s Sunday Night Football, TV’s perennial ratings monster. The AMAs hit a new low, limping to a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demo, with 3.8 million viewers, according to early Nielsen data, compared to a 1.8, with 6.73m, a year ago.

SNF, meanwhile, had a compelling matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders, and the game delivered beyond expectations, as Patrick Mahomes hit Travis Kelce on a 22-yard TD with just 28 seconds left to pull off a come-from-behind 35-31 Chiefs win. As a result, the game telecast pulled a 4.2, with 15.17m. In football terms, it was a blowout.
