MUSICARES' HOLIDAY RELIEF PROGRAM

As part of the Recording Academy and MusiCares’ continued COVID-19 relief efforts, MusiCares has created an e-card aid program, Help for the Holidays.

Launched on Giving Tuesday (11/24), the initiative will distribute $250 e-cards to the first 4,000 eligible applicants to help cover essential goods during this holiday season. Professionals with at least three years of past employment in music that have demonstrated a need can apply for the aid program beginning on 12/1.

“Layoffs have left bands, crews and support people jobless and struggling to attain the basic provisions,” says Laura Segura, Executive Director of MusiCares. “We continue to encourage all music lovers to support affected industry professionals, especially during this holiday season, one that we know will look wildly different from years past.”

Additionally, MusiCares has updated its list of COVID-19 relief online resources, which now includes a food-insecurity hotline (1-800-5HUNGRY) and Find Food Search with WhyHunger. Since establishing the fund in March, MusiCares has distributed more than $20m in aid to 20k+ people and their families.
