THE TOP 20 SEES
ITS OWN SHADOW

Why did we run this wildlife pic instead of our standard grouping of top albums? Because it feels like freakin' Groundhog Day, what with this chart configuration. Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Republic) will log an eighth week at #1 on this Friday’s HITS Top 50.

In other Groundhog Day-ish news, The Weeknd is in a chart battle with himself. His anthology The Highlights (XO/Republic) vaults to #2 this week, currently projected to sell slightly more albums than his After Hours. Under chart rules, albums sharing songs are awarded the equivalents of those tracks based on which album generates the most pure sales in any given week. With three days still to go, After Hours could still pull ahead.

There are no debuts in this week’s Top 20.

In awards news, the Golden Globes really work better with drunk celebrities.
