Give your nap a soundtrack this Friday for National Sleep Day (yes, there is such a thing) with the meditative hour-long original piece Decca Records composer Max Richter has made available through his Sleep app.
Richter, whose 2015 album Sleep is widely considered an ambient masterpiece, played a series of Sleep shows in venues around the world that often stretched past the eight-hour mark, to comport with the recording's 8.5-hour length.
Released in conjunction with Deutsche Grammophone and Universal Music Germany’s Marketing Labs, the app enables listeners to reimagine Sleep in personalized musical sessions to help with focus, meditation and, of course, sleep and gives the listener aural spaces in which to escape for a few momentszzzzzzzzzzzzz.
