New Add Action At Pop Radio This Week

Starting a new bracket with 16 teams is a great idea, Ted! After this weekend, I think we could all start over and pick a new Final Four. If you haven’t yet, drop Ted an email at [email protected] and be sure to submit your teams! You could win that Apple Watch in HITS' 2015 Stupid NCAA Basketball Contest. And you might want to call someone else for inside tips on how to win… As of last night, I am the queen of busted brackets, and for some reason I’ve been humming “Dust in the Wind” all day.

Speaking of things that are humming along, Republic’s CW, Spangler and Russell once again have Taylor Swift atop the chart with “Style” (Big Machine), while labelmate Natalie La Rose moves up to #8 with “Somebody” f/Jeremih (IMG). Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” joins the Top 10 and continues its run in the Greatest Gainer column. The Weeknd’s “Earned It” moves Top 20 with some terrific callout numbers that should drive it further up the chart. Nick Jonas’ “Chains” (Island) is ready to jump into the Top 10 and has very impressive Shazam numbers. Tove Lo’s “Talking Body” (Island) now has Top 10 RTM callout and appearances on GMA and Letterman scheduled this week.

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer, Reich and Shih had a record add week with Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” (Beluga Heights), pulling in 156 stations for a Mediabase record; it’s already sailed up the chart to #16. Meanwhile, Echosmith’s “Bright” picked up 9 new stations and is now Top 30.

RAL’s Weil and Halpern picked up some big early adds already this week in WKSC and WIOQ on Shaggy f/Mohombi/Faydee/Costi’s “I Need Your Love.” Y100 PD Alex Tear says, “This track continues to push through! An upward escalator that’s not stopping with strong potential, it’s a perfect breaking weather vibe track.”

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Strazza, Daddio and Cooper have Pitbull f/Ne-Yo’s “Time of Our Lives” holding strong at #5, while picking up WBLI, WKGS and WKKF on Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song,” which is currently #18 on the chart. Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance” picked up 10 new adds including Z100, Y100 and KZHT. Sia’s “Elastic Heart” gained support this week from Sirius XM’s Hits 1 and KAMP, along with eight others, and is looking to chart. New adds for Chris Brown & Tyga’s “Ayo” include KHKS, KHFI, WNKS and WKFS this week.

Epic’s Team Glassman has three tracks in play with Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It” (SYCO) picking up over 90 stations already, including new adds at Z100 and B96. Life of Dillon’s “Overload” has strong research coming out of WRVW and huge Shazam numbers. Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband” is off to the races, already climbing the chart quickly, and picking up over 100 stations first week out.

Capitol’s Reese, Rainey, Youngblood and Siciliano move Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down” into the Top 25 this week. Meanwhile, Tori Kelly’s “Nobody Love” continues to climb, picking up new majors WRDW, WBLI, KEGY and KAMP. Eden XO’s “Weekend” is on over 55 stations; WAKS, WDCG and WRNW were added to the list of supporters this week.

Hollywood’s Finck and Smith are loving the response they’re getting from Andy Grammer’s “Honey I’m Good” (S-Curve) which is bubbling just under and looking to chart. The Shazam numbers are through the roof and it’s on track to sell upward of 50k singles this week. The track is extremely reactive in airplay markets. R5’s “Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight” is on 30+ stations; having Riker stealing the show on DWTS is an added exposure bonanza. There’s also some huge exposure coming from an AMC/Regal Cinema special concert/documentary that will run in front of almost every single movie in mid-April. All of that should light this track up.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris and Vaughan have LunchMoney Lewis’ “Bills” moving inside the Top 30. They’ve picked up a ton of network syncs. Joining at radio this week are KKRZ, KZON, WRQX and KDIS. Calvin Harris continues to gain spins inside the Top 10 with “Outside” f/Ellie Goulding. One Direction’s “Night Changes” (SYCO) will move closer to the Top 10 with new rotation increases coming in from WNCI, WDZH and WZPL. George Ezra’s “Budapest” picked up six new stations last week and has some great early callout numbers in Nashville, Orlando and Philly.

Def Jam’s Sackheim, Chester, Rothchild and Farag are launching Alesso’s “Cool” this week and have early adds on the board from KQMV, KAMP, KMVQ and WDZH. This one should be big! Iggy Azalea f/Jennifer Hudson’s “Trouble” is already on over 100 stations and brings in KSLZ and WNFN; it will also get the Premium Choice kiss this week.
