What the hell is going on? Seriously! The only good thing for us is that in bad times and/or dark days, music thrives. Music feeds the soul and right now we are in need of good marching tunes. Be kind to each other and stand up for what you believe in. Now, where is my corkscrew …. It’s gonna be a rough ride.

Def Jam’s Sackheim, Rothchild & Farag have the #1 song on the chart, Alessia Cara’s “Scars To Your Beautiful,” for a second week, and Rihanna continues to grow spins inside the Top 10 with “Love On The Brain” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation). Big Sean’s “Bounce Back” (G.O.O.D.) is impacting this week and is already Top 5 at Urban and approaching Top 5 at Rhythm; early major market airplay on the pop side of things is coming in from WBMP, KAMP and WODS.

Capitol’s Marella, Rainey & Siciliano are impacting Sigma f/Birdy’s “Find Me” (Astralwerks). Early believers on board are KALV, KEGY, WBMP and KVIL, and the track is being used for the marketing campaign for NBC’s new show Chicago Justice. Niall Horan’s “This Town” continues to grow spins, and post big sales and Shazam numbers each week; this week it posted Top 5 RTM research. Jon Bellion’s “All Time Low” is now certified Platinum and #5 Pop Consumption on the BuzzAngle chart. Nevada f/Mark Morrison & Fetty Wap’s “The Mack” (Straightforward) pulled in KBFF and XHTZ on impact; there are already eight stations on board for this week. Adele’s “Water Under the Bridge” (XL) is poised to join the Top 15 with help from big increases from Z100, KHTS and KALV. S-Curve’s David Nathan is stacking up call letters on AJR’s “Weak” (AJR/RED) with 25 stations on board. This one is chart-bound soon. Jared Fallon, PD, WIOQ, (pictured) says “I loved ‘Weak’ from the moment I heard it. This could be a huge record.”
