Wow, we are definitely rolling through the first month of 2021 quickly. With lots of big moves as we start the year, Greg Marella moves into the EVP/President of Promotion chair at Capitol and over at RCA, Keith Rothchild moves up to Head of Promotion for Pop, Rhythm & Rock. On the other side of things, Sharon Dastur has exited Republic and is currently fielding offers and enjoying her time off in Houston. Her experience at both radio and records has her eyeing some very interesting suitors.

Speaking of Republic, Spangler & Romeo rolled into the New Year with Ariana Grande’s “positions” sitting in the #1 spot on the chart while “34 + 35” is moving through the Top 10 and is currently Top 5. The Weeknd’s “Save Your Tears” is Top 20 and we are all looking forward to that Super Bowl appearance. Taylor Swift’s “willow” is Top 20 bound with big increases from KBKS, KPTT, WBZZ and WNCI. Pop Smoke’s “What You Know Bout Love” was the #5 Greatest Gainer last week and is Top 20 bound. Republic teams with Island’s team Schiffman to launch Sabrina Carpenter’s new “Skin,” which debuted #4 on Spotify and was #3 Most Added this week with 36 adds including KAMP, HITS1, MC and B96. Erik Bradley, Entercom Chicago & L.A., says, “Aside from all the drama of the love triangle that dominates the gossip outlets, Sabrina’s ‘Skin’ is a piece of pure pop magic, I adore her and this hook! And I am hopeful that this is the mainstream breakthrough that she has been working so long towards!”

A huge shout out to a job well done by S-Curve’s Anderson & BMG’s Leipsner, along with Hollywood’s team Finck, as AJR’s “Bang!” is still climbing at Hot AC and looks #1 bound. It’s Top 3 this week and the song is also Top 10 at Top 40.

Arista’s Team Boulos have Sigala’s “Lasting Lover” f/James Arthur moving up inside the Top 30 with big support from WBLI, KAMP and HITS1. They picked up 14 new adds this week including WIHT, WFLC, WHYI, KBKS and KZHT.

Interscope’s Romano & Lopes have a runaway smash with Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license.” It’s #1 at Spotify and iTunes, and with an almost closed out panel, it’s already Top 15 and looks to be the Greatest Gainer of the week. Justin Bieber & Benny Blanco’s “Lonely” is now Top 5 with closed out panel and great research to keep it moving up the chart. Billie Eilish’s “Therefore I Am” is Top 10 at Pop and #2 at Alternative. The RTM & the Hit Predictorresearch is through the roof on this one. Machine Gun Kelly’s “my ex’s best friend” f/blackbear moves Top 20 with 175+ stations spinning and big support from HITS1, WFLZ, WWPW and KZZP.

Epic’s Sackheim, Afloarei & Dimig once again had three tracks in the Top 10 Most Added this week. They impacted Madison Beer’s “BS” with 21 adds and are chartbound already, while Travis Scott & HVME’s “Goosebumps (Remix)” pulled in another 19 adds. The Top 30 bound track saw adds including KIIS, KYLD, KZZP and WFLC. Black Eyed Peas’ “Girls Like Me” f/Shakira pulled in another 16 adds and is also about to join the Top 30. Zara Larsson’s “Talk About Love” f/Young Thug pulled in new airplay from KMXV and KYLD as it joins the chart.

Def Jam’s Team Farag have Bieber’s “Anyone” Top 20 with 170+ stations on board.

Warner’s Chester, Dyer, Reich & Shih have Saweetie’s “Best Friend” f/Doja Cat heading Top 30 with another 20 adds including KAMP, WIOQ, WNRW & WWWQ. CJ’s “Whoopty” pulled in another 13 adds this week including KMVQ, WPOW, WFBC & WXXL, and it should chart this week.

Columbia’s Gray, Burruss, Bedard, Stevens & Brenner have Ritt Momney’s “Put Your Records On” eyeing the Top 10 as one of the week’s Greatest Gainers. The Kid LAROI’s “SO DONE” is Top 25 with 135+ stations on board while his other single “WITHOUT YOU” has also charted. Harry Styles’ “Golden” is Top 20 with 170+ stations spinning.

RCA’s Rothschild, Maldonado, Jr & Daddio have Chris Brown & Young Thug’s “Go Crazy” Top 5 bound as it moves into Power rotation everywhere. Tate McRae’s “you broke me first” is moving up and joining the Top 10 with 615m global streams. Maluma X The Weeknd’s “Hawái” is heading Top 30 with support from KIIS, B96, Y100 & WBLI.
