BMG TO BUY ALBERTS
7/5/16

BMG has reached an agreement with the Albert family to acquire 131-year-old Australian pubco Alberts (aka J Albert & Son Pty Ltd.). The company has worked with artists such AC/DC, The Easybeats, John Paul Young and Rose Tattoo, among many others. The company will now form part of BMG Australia, home of Wolfmother, Peking Duk and other hipsters. BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch praised the "incredible opportunity" of the union, while Alberts chief David Albert, acknowledging that it "was a difficult decision to make," said BMG "is in the best position to take the business forward." Later, a wallaby got a deal for a streaming mixtape.
