LOUIS BELL RINGS LOUD AT UMPG
1/13/21

UMPG has inked an exclusive global publishing deal with songwriter/producer Louis Bell, a six-time Grammynominee.

As part of the deal UMPG also acquires Bell’s catalog, including hits like Post Malone’s “Rockstar,” “Better Now” and “Sunflower” f/Swae Lee—Bell was executive producer of Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding—Camila Cabello’s “Havana,” The Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker” and Halsey’s “Without Me,” which contribute to Bell’s 150m+ platinum song certifications in the U.S.

“I am thrilled to welcome Louis Bell to the UMPG family. He is not only an immensely talented songwriter and producer for some of the biggest artists in the world; he is one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I know,” said UMPG Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson. “Our global team looks forward to providing outstanding opportunities to support his artistry and songs.”

“I am extremely excited and grateful to begin this journey with Jody, Lillia Parsa and the entire Universal Music Publishing team," Bell said.

Nominated three consecutive times for Grammy's Record of the Year, Bell has also been recognized as ASCAP’s 2019 and 2020 Songwriter of the Year and Variety's 2020 Songwriter of the Year and 2019 Producer of the Year.

Bells’ other notable releases include Miley Cyrus’ “Angels Like You,” “Plastic Hearts,” “Midnight Sky” and more from her Plastic Hearts album, Halsey’s “Graveyard,” Taylor Swift’s “I Forgot That You Existed,” “Afterglow” and “It’s Nice to Have a Friend” and 5SOS’s “Old Me.”

Bell was represented in the deal by Jason Boyarski of Boyarski Fritz LLP.
