DISCOVERY: THE NEW REGIME
8/4/15

When you hear the name Nine Inch Nails, you may think of Trent Reznor, or the lyrics "I want to fuck you like an animal" (because who could erase that from their memory), but, unless you're well-versed in the inner-workings of the rock scene, you may not be totally aware of Ilan Rubin (yet).

An adroit session artist and multi-instrumentalist, Rubin has served as the rock staple's drummer since 2008, joined Angels & Airwaves in 2011 and recorded all the drums on Paramore's self-titled album, released in 2013.

When a 27-year-old's résumé is that diverse, the news of purely original material is nothing short of invigorating.

"We Rise, We Fall" is the lead track off of The New Regime's latest release, Exhibit B, which dropped in March. Jam out to it below.

Rubin played every instrument and sang every note on the track, and the same can be said for the eight-song album, which he also wrote, recorded and produced.

The set, driven by electrifying synths, gritty riffs and warm ambient tones, showcases Rubin as a multifaceted craftsman.

The band will be supporting Failure on a brief North American tour this month. See below for details.
