VIDEO OF THE WEEK: "LOSE IT"
1/26/16

Combining dreamy synths, alternative heart and pop sensibilities seems to be the recipe for success nowadays. And that sentiment certainly rings true for London-based duo Oh Wonder, who popped out of obscurity with their independently released and self-titled debut album in September.

Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West (the names behind the project) prove to be quite impressive, churning out delectable ditties powered by comforting melodies, woozy beats and poignant lyrics. And as for a fun fact, in making the LP, the pair wrote, recorded and released a song every month, starting in September of 2014.

In this writer's humble opinion, Oh Wonder is loaded with hits. To emphasize that, I urge you to peep their YouTube channel; each of their official music videos has earned north of 1m views, and the first one was published only eight months ago. Oh, and fourteen of their tracks have topped the charts at leading blog aggregate HypeMachine.

All that being said, I'm clearly not alone in my opinions, considering they just inked a deal with Republic.

Get a taste of their charm with the newest clip for "Lose It," which went up yesterday.

xx,
Samantha Hissong
