IS CASTLE IN YOUR CALENDAR?
2/27/17

20-year-old singer/songwriter Christina Castle has been in the studio cooking up a standout album with Linda Perry. Be ahead of the curve and catch an early glimpse of the newcomer's magic for yourself by checking out her show tonight at the Hotel Cafe, where she'll be playing the songs on piano. Lots of label and publishing weasels are expected to be in this room, so ya best put those schmooze shoes on, buddy.

The talented, 108 Management-repped Australian's first show in the States caught the attention of Apple Music's Head of Pop Programming, Arjan Timmermans. Now it's time for the follow-up gig.

"Christina Castle serves up a refreshing point of view in the current pop landscape," shares Timmermans. "I saw her first show at Hotel Cafe early January and was impressed by her charismatic stage presence, knack for melody and powerful vocal delivery. Christina's music is deeply rooted in timeless songwriting and together with Linda Perry she has created something very special. She's a star in the making and we are excited to continue to support her."

Perry added: "So this chick from Australia showed up at my studio doorstep and I was like, 'Oh boy, here we go... Another pop princess looking for fame and cliché one-liners.' I couldn't have been so wrong. Every vocal take delivered with pure intention. Every song brilliantly crafted as the one before. It's pop but not. I don't know what it is; it's just really fucking good and I'm glad to be a part of it. So the next time a pop princess knocks on your door, let her in."

Don't turn away princesses in need. Sound advice. Sound advice indeed.
