Rapper, writer and producer A Boogie Wit da Hoodie's single "Drowning" is making waves at Soundcloud and Spotify. The track features bars from Kodak Black and rests at #4 on Soundcloud's Top 50 and #26 on Spotify's Top 100 with nearly 60m streams. The Bronx native debuted with his mixtape Artist in 2016, and it was soon named one of the Top 40 Rap Albums of the year by Rolling Stone.

"Drowning" is one of two 2017 releases (along with "Horses") off of The Fate of The Furious soundtrack, which also features Kodak Black and PNB Rock.

A Boogie keeps trap current. Yes, his lyrics are hard, but the tracks are fluid and enriched with a musicality that doesn't need the hardness of the 808s, although it compliments them no less. "Drowning" goes down so easy you won't notice you're the one under water, the piano adding sombre mystique to a song about jewellery and showing out. It's not too new, but it's certainly picking up speed with streaming and is hopefully the precursor to a forthcoming full-length. Dive in below.
