WHAT IT IS: This L.A.-based band released their shimmering debut, “Loveless,” in 2016. Since then, they’ve put out a series of singles, including “This Is It,” which went Top 7 on the AAA airplay chart, and most recently, “Real Love.” Their self-titled debut album—produced by Chris Walla (Death Cab for Cutie) and Francois Tetaz (Gotye)—is a dark, luscious collection of songs full of rock crescendos and sparkling electronics, which has led to comparisons with bands like The xx, Sigur Ros and Talk Talk. It features appearances from The War on DrugsAdam Granduciel and Charlie Hall, as well as The Blue Nile’s P.J. Moore.
