Ocean Park Standoff (Hollywood)

WHAT IT IS: When members of a band come from disparate backgrounds, each member’s idiosyncrasies and individuality come together to form a new collective identity. Since forming in 2014, that’s certainly been the case for Ocean Park Standoff. At first glance, producer, drummer and hip-hop head Pete Nappi, U.K.-born multi-instrumentalist, lyricist and internationally renowned DJ Samantha Ronson and multi-instrumentalist, classically trained vocalist and singer/songwriter Ethan Thompson might seem quite different, but they quickly defined this project’s vision, giving OPS a distinct creative energy and identity. The three artists collide to create aggressively uplifting, alternative-leaning, hip-hop-influenced party anthems.
