WHAT IT IS: The alt-pop singer left his Nashville home for L.A. to find “space to think, breathe and be with myself,” he explains. With that resilience in mind, he named his first album vital. All cascading synthscapes and cool beats, it navigates the expanse between everything devastating and joyous about the human condition. “home” f/Walk The Moon, which anchors vital, serves as his breakout song. “Home is more than the bed you lay in. It’s the adventure of finding the place that makes you feel alive,” he says. “The song is about having a feeling of belonging, who I am in the world, what I have to say.”
