Despite a low start of #57 on Monday, Childish Gambino has rocketed up the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart to surpass Jess Glynne and claim this week’s highest new entry at #14 with “This Is America” (Columbia)—his highest peak in Blighty as a lead artist to date.
Gambino reached #51 with “Redbone” in 2016, and in 2012 guested on Leona Lewis’ single “Trouble” (Syco), which reached #7.
Elsewhere on singles, Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa have earned a fourth week at #1 with “One Kiss” (Columbia/Warner Bros.), and Drake has risen one place to #2 with “Nice for What” (Island). Ariana Grande is down to #3 with “No Tears Left to Cry” (Island).
