SHAPIRO WINS "MOST POPULAR EXEC OF THE WEEK"

Atlantic Records Exec VP/GM Has Dance Card Full With Offers From Atlantic, Arista
Already rumored to be one of the men in contention for the "top spot" at Arista Records under incoming head Antonio "L.A." Reid, Atlantic Records Executive VP/GM Ron Shapiro is apparently actively engaged in contract renegotiation at Atlantic. Shapiro's contract with the label is nearly up.

This news comes within days of Shapiro receiving a formal offer from Arista, according to sources.

It has been speculated that Shapiro may be in line for the post of president, a slot that has been vacant since val azzoli',390,400);">val azzoli',390,400);">Val Azzoli stepped up to Co-chairman/Co-CEO of the Atlantic Group.

Representatives from Atlantic and Arista offered no comment.
