BMG Entertainment has signed an agreement with San Francisco-based MusicBank which will license secure, on-demand streaming access to BMG's entire catalog. MusicBank users will be able to store, manage and listen to the BMG CDs in their collections without having to upload the songs. The Web-based interface launches this fall.
Much like controversial MyMP3.com, MusicBank claims a unique system ofascertaining ownership, in their words, through either "retailer verification of purchase or through physical possession."
