Gary Ballen, Flesh's manager, said the rapper's camp was "pleased" with the outcome. The rapper could've been facing up to 19 years in prison, but the sentence was instead 10 years at 50% plus time served, which means Stanley will only serve approximately five years.
Stated Jonathan Kissell, Flesh's attorney: "While this may appear to be a lengthy sentence, it will not serve as a life sentence. Stanley will continue to write music, to interact with people in the music industry and use his creatively for others' enjoyment. He will be back in society's grasp within five years and will have learned a very valuable lesson in life."
The judge even recommended the rapper serve his sentence in a facility that specializes in caring for inmates with addiction problems, where "Stanley can receive counseling."
